Case Under Advisement in Destruction of Property Charge
Superior Court judge Alice Truman has taken under advisement a malicious destruction of property case involving former University of Arizona student activist Conrad Goeringer. Three days of evidence were heard without a jury. Defense claims Goeringer was 20 feet away when students broke down a door at Old Main during the Oct 22, 1970 demonstration. UA Security Supervisor Douglas Paxton testified to seeing Goeringer help break the door. The trial follows Goeringer’s appeal of a prior conviction by Justice of the Peace Toby Lavette, who fined him 160.97 dollars and suspended sentencing for six months.

Tucson Men Plan To Take Army Tests At Fort Huachuca
A group of 24 young men including five from Tucson will take medical and physical aptitude tests at Fort Huachuca November 21 to 23 for admission to the U S Military Academy at West Point. Scholarships Offered by ROTC for High School Seniors
High school seniors may apply for four year Army ROTC scholarships by December 31. The program provides full tuition and money for books and lab fees plus a $50 monthly allowance. Winners are commissioned as second lieutenants and must serve four years on active duty. Scholarships can be used at 285 colleges nationwide. Applicants must be at least 17 and complete requirements for a commission and degree before age 25.
