Hill Prince Wins 1950 Preakness In Front on Slow Track

Hill Prince, owned by C T Chenery, beat Middleground by about five lengths in the 74th Preakness at Pimlico. Eddie Arcaro rode the Virginia bred colt who led from the backstretch and finished the mile and three sixteenths in 1:59 1/5, paying $3.40 to win. Middleground paid $3.20 for place with Dooly third as five-horse wagering limited.
