Heavy voter turnout in Florida presidential primary

Florida voters turned out in heavy numbers despite rain as the Ford Reagan contest led the day. Citizens in Dade County projected about 70 percent turnout if early voting pace continued, while Democrats Henry Jackson George Wallace and Jimmy Carter also factor into the race. State auditor faces ouster move in Arizona

Arizona's auditor general Ira Osman faces a dismissal push as the Joint Legislative Budget Committee slated to vote. Senate leader Burton Barr backs ouster, saying Osman is disliked by the Senate and committee chairmanship alternates between chambers. Osman has held the post since 1969 and oversees audits of state, county, local and school units.
