City Should Gain Water Line Right Of Way Across State Land
State Land Commissioner Obed Lassen ruled the city will receive right of way across three parcels of state land to build a 2.7 million dollar water pipeline to the Avra Valley. The decision follows a meeting with Mayor James Corbett and Assistant City Attorney James Webb. Webb noted future state land grants for well sites depend on courts upholding Tucson’s right to draw valley water, with sites not required soon.
