Rulings Aim to Stop Criticism of School Trustees
Two attorney general rulings could shield school districts from criticism over student body funds and spending. One ruling says extra curricular funds belong to students in trust, not county treasuries. The other allows using regular tax money for many items once paid from student funds, affecting decisions on sports travel uniforms and school papers, while denying some subsidies and meetings. A Tucson tax money use note follows and a political candidate, Richard W. Chalmers, announces for state senate.
