City Council Presses CAB to Reconsider Bonanza Bid
Tucson city council urged the Civil Aeronautics Board to reverse its June 18 denial of Bonanza Airlines service between Tucson and Phoenix and Tucson and Yuma. The resolution, supported by Chamber of Commerce president Frank Drachman and Tucson Airport Authority leader Ted Monroe, calls the CAB decision unsatisfactory and copies were sent to board members and Arizona congressional delegation. The meeting also approved water system purchases totaling about 12 378 dollars and 21 000 dollars install costs, authorized 80 300 dollars for Main line improvements near Ajo Way Nogales Freeway, arranged joint recreation use with Tucson School District 1, tightened penalties for escaping prisoners, and refused a beer license due to zoning.
