Kenneth Scharman the Pima County Sanitary District manager says no increase is expected in the district tax rate which stands at 85 cents per 100 of assessed value. An additional garbage disposal tax will be levied on district residents. the county tax for garbage disposal will be removed. City residents’ garbage tax will be collected by the city as part of its rate, while the new district disposal tax applies to county residents within the district.
