Railroad Committee Halts Under Court Order
Superior Court Judge Henry S. Stevens issued a temporary restraining order halting the State Railroad Committee from publicizing petitions to repeal the full crew law. A show cause hearing is set for June 25. The order, requested by Arizona Citizens for Public Safety, targets Santa Fe and Southern Pacific Railroads and the committee. Plaintiffs say the advertising is illegal for lacking five signatures and that five named defendants actually represent the railroads.
