Indian U S Talks Fail in Colorado River Dispute
Nine members of the Colorado River Indian tribal council returned to Arizona after deadlocked talks in Washington over irrigation for Palo Verde valley California and a colonization program. The 1945 agreement would cost about 75 000 acres of irrigable land and more mesa land, with water rights from the Colorado River at stake. Chairman George Fisher criticized the Indian bureau and said further talks with U S Indian Commissioner Dillon Myer were unnecessary.
