Chaos at Harlem cruise ends in postponement and arrests
A 10th annual Le Douze Club outing on the Hudson sparked a near riot as about 4000 gathered for a Harlem Social Club cruise. Bogus tickets led to arrests for counterfeiting and assault, with 150 officers deployed to calm the scene. The Hudson Belle aborted the voyage after clashes and fires on the pier.

Two Cyclists Injured In Separate Wrecks
Two motorcyclists were injured yesterday in separate Tucson crashes. Joseph Howard Sellers, 17, of 6744 East 12th Street, was in fair condition at Tucson Medical Center with facial scrapes and possible head injuries. Bobby Joe Long, 31, with no address given, suffered cuts and bruises and was in satisfactory condition at St. Marys Hospital. Sellers, a Rincon High School student, was west bound on Golf Links Road when his motorcycle hit a buckhole and went out of control about two miles east of Kolb Road, traveling over 70 feet and skidding 55 more. He was cited for failure to control speed. Long was northbound on Country Club Road from a stop light at 22nd Street when he lost control while lifting a kick stand and crashed into a steel pole.

In New York City’s Staten Island the Mount Loretto orphanage will auction its 120 cattle from the 648 acre property. Administrators say dairy farming is no longer a suitable skill for a city boy and plan the sale in the first week of August.
