Columbia Head Denies SDS Voice In University Affairs
Columbia University President Graydon Kirk rejected any decision-making power for the SDS in campus policy. In a June 1 message to alumni and others, he warned such groups would be met firmly and argued the SDS seeks to destroy or radically transform political and social institutions. The university pledges greater student and faculty participation after disruptive protests.
