San Juan Day Revival in 1890 Tucson Echoes
In 1890 Tucson planned a San Juan Day fiesta with an artificial lake at Elysian Grove, the Flowing Wells canal, and river water for the celebrations. Today the canal is dry, the lake gone, and water scarce, replaced by public pools as natives hope for rain on San Juan's day. Weather signs hint at possible showers, though exact rainfall remains uncertain.
