A Sonora Flying Service pilot, 32-year-old Chuck Cochran of Prescott, was killed when his World War II Navy tanker crashed while dumping slurry on a blaze 14 miles east of Payson. The fire burned over 200 acres in the Tonto National Forest as other fires scorch southern Arizona.

Scaffold Slips As New York Two Men Cling Ten Minutes
