Sergeant Invents Adjustable Arm Pad at Davis Monthan
Tech Sergeant Joseph E. Coston of the 43rd medical squadron at Davis Monthan Air Force Base developed an adjustable arm pad to ease intravenous medication and feeding. The plastic covered pad with half inch adjustable straps reduces discomfort and speeds application, inspired by a restless patient during blood administration. Mrs. Coston, the first beneficiary, approved the device after a brief test.
