In New Holland Pennsylvania a traffic light problem frustrates residents as horse drawn buggies fail to trip treadles. Officials consider ultrasonic devices to trigger signals. The item also notes a humorous London Times ad about a trombone player selling jackets with an uneven sleeve.
Police nabbed Hernsiey Rudolph Haywood, 56, after a half hour game of hide and seek following the Crown Liquor Store robbery on E Grant Road. He admitted the holdup and $54 was found in a litter bag in his car along with a 38 caliber revolver and a white cloth mask under the seat. Haywood, of 1545 N 5th Ave, was booked on armed robbery charges. Attendant Patrick Serge, 29, described the suspect entering the store with hands in pockets and a mask, and forcing him to fill a paper bag with money. The arrest occurred at W Speedway and Granada Ave by Patrolman Jack Moore.

Richard J. Jensen of Tucson will be awarded a master's degree in American studies at Yale University and received a Graduate School fellowship for independent research this summer. A 1958 Salpointe High School graduate, Jensen is the son of Mrs. J M Jensen of 2520 E Beverly Dr and earned a mathematics degree from the University of Notre Dame.
