State Seeks Move of Tucson Sewer Line
The State of Arizona has gone to Superior Court to compel Tucson and Sanitary District No. 1 to relocate a sewer line northwest of Tucson. Attorney General Wade Church says the state granted rights of encroachment in 1969 with removal upon request and alleges the defendants refused action. The line near the freeway between University of Arizona farms and West Speedway must be moved to allow a Grant Road underpass, with project costs around 50,000 dollars.

San Pedro completes long delayed land water deal
San Pedro city officials closed a land and water deal with Lloyd and Mrs. Lloyd W. Golder in Cochise County at 4:15 p.m. The city pays 967 125 dollars for about 4 800 acres of land and 1 400 acres of grazing leases with minerals reserved to the Golders on lease portions. The transaction ends the complex trust arrangement linked to prior bids and includes closing cost responsibility and right of first refusal on unused land. A grand jury probe into the San Pedro trust membership may follow, and the city plans a seven million dollar development to pipe water from the San Pedro over the Rincons aiming for 15 million gallons by 1975.
