Fire-Razed Lumber Yard Blazes Through Tempest of Flames
A major fire gutted the Grant Road Lumber Co yard with 500 gallons of paint thinner fueling 200 feet of flames. No serious injuries. 45 firefighters fought the blaze for hours as crowds of up to 5,000 gathered. Owner Hauert said the business would reopen today at a Grant Road store, with records saved and several suppliers offering help.
