Noose Finally Catches Up With Jake Bird
Walla Walla Washington July 15 Jake Bird a 47 year old Black man convicted of slaying Bertha Kludt in Tacoma was hanged at six minutes after midnight ending a two year effort to avoid execution. He had boasted of a hex and confessed to involvement in 29 other murders with evidence tying him to about 11 more crimes across the nation. About 100 witnesses crowded the death chamber as Bird faced the gallows silent and resigned before the noose.

Steps Between Cars Into Path Of Auto
