Mrs. Sanders Dies On Trip In Nogales At 65 In Tucson
Tucson native Phyllis Sanders died unexpectedly at 5 30 p m Wednesday in Nogales while shopping with friends. She was 65 and survived by a daughter Priscilla Manspeaker and son Mac with brothers Monte and Sam Mansfeld. She lived at The Owls on Main Street for a decade and was active in cultural and civic causes. Funeral arrangements are pending at Parker mortuary.

Boy 17 Recalls Mountain Trip Before Amputations
John Helmick 17 told Sheriff Croston of a trek with two younger brothers that went wrong as they wandered in harsh mountains five miles from Davis West Virginia. The brothers Eston Carr 9 and Robert 7 were found dead from exposure. John’s feet were saved only by amputation to prevent death. He described building a fire, eating snow, and carrying Robert through freezing conditions while lost in fog and cold. He thanked the sheriff for saving his life and offered his pocket knife.

Mountain States files Arizona rate increase to boost revenue
