He built firms in engineering oil real estate aviation publishing and more, beginning with a $2500 loan and later moving London Bridge to Arizona.
L W Construction plans a nine home solar demonstration project in Tucson with a model home at Solari East Side subdivision. The price tag for the demonstration home is about 49200 with solar equipment boosting value by 7000 and installation costs around 20 to 28 per square foot.

Two men William Horman and Leland Cranmer survived nearly four days at sea after their Gazelle helicopter crashed off Fort Lauderdale. Cranmer rented a $6 life raft, and both men were rescued 35 miles northeast of Cape Canaveral. They suffered mild dehydration and exposure.
The University of Arizona will store early Arizona newspapers at the Arizona Historical Society rather than destroy them. Librarian Margaret Bret Harte says the society will contact branches that want to display the papers, after the UA Library planned to recycle them for space.
