Woman slain. husband finds body in Tucson home

A 35 year old Tucson woman Juanita Schieber was shot in the head at 3301 S Belmar Ave. Her husband Robert Schieber 50 found her in a pool of blood and called police at 5 45 AM. Autopsy cited a .22 caliber wound to the head. Police sought the weapon as detectives questioned the husband.

County Receives Largely Favorable State Audit

The state examiners praised Pima County for competent handling of about 85 million dollars in four years while criticizing Lambert Kauten burger, chairman of the Board of Supervisors, for mileage claims during regular meetings. Living Cost Dips Slightly In January

The Labor Department reports a 0.1 percent drop in the January living cost index to 125.4, the lowest since September and 1.3 percent above a year earlier. Lower prices for clothes, cars, eggs, and meats helped retreat, though the index remains near its all time high. Wage adjustments tied to the index will affect about 60,000 aircraft and farm machinery workers, with most taking a one cent per hour cut, while 14,000 truckers gain a one percent raise. auto and related industries see no change. Spendable earnings stayed at a record high despite a 0.5 percent Social Security tax rise, averaging $82.33 weekly for a family-head worker and $74.74 for a single worker.

Four Youths Questioned In Murder Case
