Tucson Man Faces First Degree Murder Charge in Slaying

Robert Dwight Fenton, 23, formerly of Springfield Ohio, is held after a chase from Nogales to three miles north of the city following the shooting death of Opal Keller Coward 53 in her Tucson home during a suspected robbery. He was wounded in the leg, admitted the slaying, and described the crime in detail while hospitalized.

Youth Shot After Kicking City Detective's Teeth Out

A 11 year old youth named Trussel Flowers of 1125 E 28th St was wounded by a .38 slug fired by city police during a chase after he assaulted a detective and knocked out his teeth. Flowers remains at St Marys Hospital in good condition. The girl assaulted was unharmed and the detective received mouth injuries. Flowers will be held for juvenile authorities upon release.
