Arizona Senate votes for survey power over utilities
The Arizona Senate approved a bill 12 to 6 to allow the state corporation commission to conduct surveys of electric telephone gas and water works at utility expense. The measure carried the emergency clause but failed to reach a two thirds majority. The House passed a redistricting bill creating two U. S. congressional districts with Maricopa County in District 1 and a future third seat possible after the 1950 census. The plan threatens to unseat U S Reps Murdock or Harless from Maricopa.
