Star-studded rodeo field to enter Arizona day event

The parade and rodeo draw a host of past world champions and top riders led by Larry Mahan and Jim Rodriguez Jr. in Las Cruces. Notables include Leo Camarillo, Bucky Bradford, Bill Nelson, Shawn Davis, and Rusty Riddle. Special acts feature Montie Montana and Rock and Nicky. Plan for local property tax cuts under state framework

Black December claims embassy raid in London

A group calling itself Black December claimed responsibility for yesterday’s assault on the Indian High Commission in London carried out by three Pakistanis armed with toy pistols, knives, and a sword. Power blackout hits New York City area in major outage

A vast power failure blacked out Brooklyn and Staten Island, affecting over a million people. It disrupted elevators and subways, halted traffic signals, and shut hospital power systems, with the outage traced to transmission network faults and lasting from 2:20 to 4:50 p.m. Tucson time. Senate approves three year 1.5 billion extension of Aid to the Elderly program despite veto threat, 82-9.
