Thank You Dinner Honors Hundreds at UCC Event
The United Community Campaign marks its annual thank you dinner on March 1 at 7 p.m. at the Ramada Inn with a social hour from 6 p.m. A. Motley of Parade Publications is featured speaker and Gilbert Bradley of Valley National Bank serves as master of ceremonies. Reservations are $4.25 including tip and tax.

Two Injured In Car Crash Near Rocking K Ranch
Two people injured in a one car crash on Old Spanish Trail near the Rocking K Ranch were recovering at St. Joseph's Hospital. Dale Edward Wittner 27 suffered a dislocated shoulder rib fractures and cuts while Victoire Tidmore 22 had a fractured neck vertebra and severe injuries. Tidmore was driving the 1960 car when it left the road at 4 54 pm.

Two New Beagle Pups Arrive at White House
Washington UPI reports the White House welcomes Beauregard and Dumpling two beagle pups offspring of Freckles and Jones Brook line Buddy owned by Mrs. Jean DuPont. With the new arrivals six dogs live at the executive mansion including five beagles and one white collie Blanco.

The 66 year old maestro discussed youth trends, read music, and teased rivals while his band earned steady applause and a sold out charity ball in Phoenix loomed on the horizon. King urged patrons to eat between sets as he signed autographs and prepared for the next show.
