Boston Group Sues HEW Over Social Security Earned Income Rule
A Boston alliance of three retiree groups led by Working Retirees of America sues the HEW secretary and SSA head in US District Court challenging a rule that reduces Social Security benefits when earnings exceed 140 dollars in a month. They argue the provision unequal protects earned income limits and violates equal protection and cap of 1680 dollars per year.
