Citizen adds full color comics to Saturday issue

Tucson's Citizen will publish full color comics on Saturdays starting May 2, ending Sunday Star delivery with combined subscriptions. Wayne Beck 13 Suffers Fall Through Amphitheater Ceiling

Wayne Beck a 13 year old Amphitheater High freshman fell through the auditorium ceiling this noon and dropped about 25 feet to the floor. He remained conscious and was treated by a physician after first aid. an arm fracture is suspected. Beck is the son of Mr and Mrs Roy Beck of 201 West Jacinto Street.

Two Escape Death Here

A wind driven fire on Tucson's south side destroyed a two room home at 1921 S Fremont Ave. Three children of the James Rol land family Kathryn Marilyn 5 Doris Marie 4 and James Lord 2 died. Two other siblings Willie Floyd 2 and Carolyn Estell seven months escaped. The mother Mrs Beaver Rolland was at her parents' home when the blaze started and the cause remains unknown. Firefighters from South Park battled the flames as neighbors learned of the tragedy after dawn.

Americans die as allied plane drops bombs by mistake

Dust Storms Hit Wheat Regions Across Kansas Oklahoma Texas

Chiang's Son To Visit U. S

Maj. Gen. Chiang Wego, son of Chiang Kai-shek, says Nationalist forces are ready to attack the Communist mainland at a minute's notice. He is en route to a three week tour of U S military installations, with four other Chinese Nationalist generals. They leave for Travis air force base today after arriving from Tokyo.
