Bandits who robbed Mrs. Ethel Anderson, 50, bookkeeper at Tucson Inn’s Bagdad Room, of about 1580 remained at large after 24 hours of intensive police work. They gagged and tied her, escaped west toward Mabel Street, with $1500 in bills and $80 in coins, as officers hunted via trains, buses, and taxis.

Fourth Freeze Bites North Florida Across Nation
The fourth and possibly worst winter freeze hit northern Florida with heavy snowfall in the West Great Lakes and Northeast. A warming trend appeared in the eastern two thirds of the country while Mississipp Valley temperatures rose up to 20 degrees. Overnight readings remained near freezing as far south as Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle. The Florida crop livestock and tourist industries suffered a crippling blow as thousands of cattle died and overall weather toll topped 129 dead from traffic accidents fires and exposure since February 6.
