UA Scientists Pick Target for Ranger VIII Moon Flight
Scientists at the University of Arizona Lunar and Planetary Laboratory select Mare Tranquillitatis as the Ranger VIII target for lunar closeup television pictures. Dr Gerard F Kuiper leads the project with Ewen Whitaker as a contributor as the launch from Cape Kennedy approaches next week. If delay occurs the craft would shift to the moon's left limb behind the shadow.
