Wilson Survives Vote Shows Labour Divisions in Parliament
London UPI report says 65 Hawker Siddely workers were laid off as Britain’s government buys American warplanes. The vote defeat followed a stormy Commons session with Harold Wilson absent and Liberal MPs switching to Conservatives, heightening fears of a governing coalition challenge. Caspar Weis, a 92 year old Canton midget, died yesterday after a long show business career beginning in Germany in 1897.
