Hughes to lay off 1250 at Falcon missile plant

Case chessman seeks higher court delay ruling

Chief Judge Richard H. Chambers of the Ninth Circuit denied Daryl Chessman a full hearing or stay of execution and he remains scheduled for Feb. 19 at San Quentin. A. L. Wirin said the defense would seek relief from the U S Supreme Court, which would not automatically delay the execution.

Transfer of Douglas priest stands, priest to Mesa

Tucson Diocese official Daniel Gercke today refused to reconsider the transfer of Rev. Charles H. Rourke from Immaculate Conception Parish in Douglas to Queen of Peace Parish in Mesa. The 33 year old priest has earned community gratitude for his non denominational youth work.
