Seventeen crashes in three days left 44 dead and 150 injured.Incidents spanned the United States and Europe with B47, DC6, DC7 and F84 jets involved. Notable wrecks near New York City, Gloucester and Van Nuys.
United Nations delegate Henry Cabot Lodge Jr. appeals to Israel and Egypt to accept a two part plan using UN troops on the border. He calls for immediate Israeli withdrawal from Egyptian territory and for UN forces to move in afterward to prevent a return to old conditions.
Sen. Mundt says Defense Secretary Wilson is doing a good job and should be judged on performance. Wilson stood by a disputed remark about a National Guard scandal while acknowledging the Guard’s role in Korea and planned a two week Florida vacation with Mrs. Wilson as Eisenhower joined them on the trip.
The U S Weather Bureau at Tucson Municipal Airport predicts a pleasant Sunday with temperatures in the 60s to mid 60s and high clouds. Tonight and tomorrow night lows are expected in the 35 to 40 degree range across the state with readings from Douglas to Phoenix and Flagstaff and Prescott showing cool to mild values.
