A navy PBI patrol bomber attempting a landing at Davis Menthan field crashed into the side of the enlisted men's consolidated mess hall at 2 08 this afternoon. Lieutenant Henderson the pilot and a radio man were killed. One person on the ground was injured as the blaze tore through the hall and sent flames and heat toward the base prompting firefighting efforts to bring the fire under control.
