Belgrade reports a Yugoslav watchdog courted a Bulgarian dog at the frontier. Bulgarian guards captured the male dog and hid anti Tito propaganda under his collar before returning him. The Yugoslav guards burned the propaganda and the dog returns to duty in a chastened mood.
A major tremor rattled Luzon from end to end for about 242 minutes causing widespread alarm. Buildings sustained damage in Manila and major cities while fires from short circuits were extinguished and risks from aftershocks were warned. No casualties were reported by Red Cross.
