Palooka Creator Ham Fisher Dies in Studio
Ham Fisher creator of Joe Palooka was found dead at a friend's studio in New York. Police report two notes indicate death by his own action citing failing eyesight and diabetes and that he swallowed pills. Fisher, 54, wrote that his sight worsened and health declined and asked for forgiveness for his loved ones. The body was found about 9 p.m. by Morris Weiss. Fisher had spoken with his mother earlier and had phoned his wife Marilyn. Funeral services set for tomorrow at 2 p.m. in River Side Memorial Chapel.

Eisenhower Arrives in Key West for Winter Break
President Eisenhower touched down in Key West Florida at 12 49 p m aboard the presidential plane after a three four minute flight from Washington. He was greeted by Navy and civic officials and driven along Eisenhower drive past Truman avenue and Roosevelt boulevard. The visit marks a rare warm weather rest and work period with his brother Milton Eisenhower and Dr Howard McC Snyder aboard. Barbara Eisenhower remains in Washington after the birth of her fourth grandchild.

In Bussac France M Sergeant George McElroy from Herrin lit stepped into a shower yesterday and found white wine flowing from the tap. The kitchen water also turned to wine as wells ran low and tankers sometimes carried wine instead of water. The driver was unaware of his load.
