Palooka Creator Ham Fisher Dies in Studio
Ham Fisher creator of Joe Palooka was found dead at a friend's studio in New York. Police report two notes indicate death by his own action citing failing eyesight and diabetes and that he swallowed pills. Fisher, 54, wrote that his sight worsened and health declined and asked for forgiveness for his loved ones. The body was found about 9 p.m. by Morris Weiss. Fisher had spoken with his mother earlier and had phoned his wife Marilyn. Funeral services set for tomorrow at 2 p.m. in River Side Memorial Chapel.

President Eisenhower touched down in Key West Florida at 12 49 p m aboard the presidential plane after a three four minute flight from Washington.
