Budapest Jazzed by War Echoes in Hungarian Context
The piece reflects on Budapest during wartime, linking its culture to Vienna and Prague, and notes how the Danube city has been shaped by invasions and migrations. It considers how musicians like Liszt and Haydn drew on Hungarian folk tunes, and asks what future cultural shifts may arise after the war as populations mix and rebuild.
