Redeployment at Hungnam described as flawless navy operation
The U S navy called the Hungnam evacuation a flawless redeployment removing 105000 troops and more than 100000 civilians, 17500 vehicles, and 350000 tons of supplies from northeast Korea. Adm Joy credited mobility air power and firepower and said cranes and harbor gear were destroyed by underwater demolition teams to deny the enemy any use of facilities.
