Self Expression Dominates Modern Schools and Parents
A 1944 King Features Syndicate column critiques youth driven education reforms. It notes high school reforms extending days, student protests against administrators like Worcester's Thomas Power, and widespread shifts from the three Rs to arts, music, and extracurriculars. It cites San Francisco mothers pushing bridge for credit and secret societies flouting laws, illustrating a era of student autonomy over schooling.
