Free Fall Record Set In Jump Over California Desert
Air Force Capt. Charles J. Cory led a combined Army Air Force team in a 43 000 foot free fall over El Centro California. Thirteen parachutists set a world mass free fall record breaking the 1961 mark. Each jumper fell 41250 feet before automatic parachutes opened.
