Chicago, Los Angeles, Kansas City, and Denver markets show mixed cattle and calf movements. Cattle receipts small in Chicago with steers and heifers mostly down. Los Angeles steady or lower for most classes. Kansas City edges lower on heifers while calves rise. Denver mixed with prime steers sold and grass cattle steady to strong.
Local poultry and eggs prices show wholesale and dressed rates for hens roasters turkeys and live and drawn weights. Numbers reflect wholesale live dressed and producer to consumer values with various weight classes and size categories.
In New York on December 16 the cotton futures market moved to a steadier tone with mill buying and local demand supporting prices. Trading remained quiet amid spot market dullness and expectations of cotton policy guidance from Washington conferences. nearby months finished 15 cents to 35 cents higher.
