New York December 12 Rosies 3000 pound hippo at the Central Park Zoo is kept on a reduced water supply with tank cleaning and refilling every other day saving about 500 gallons daily. Other animals, including Chang the Indian elephant, also face shorter rations.

Phoenix reported the death of Larry Freeman a 27 year old bus driver from possible carbon monoxide poisoning. A note was found in Freeman's car along with a hose connected to the exhaust pipe near a dry wash north of the Arizona canal and west of lateral 14. Sheriff's Officer D L McGovney identified the scene and E C Elliot discovered the car yesterday afternoon.
