Rubens Madonna Returns From Museum Basement
The National Collection of Fine Arts reexcavates a Rubens painting titled Madonna Supporting the Child on a Parapet from its storeroom where it languished since 1929. Experts identify it as a lost masterpiece, a preliminary study for La Christa la Paule, and confirm it is entirely by the master.
