Middaugh On Trial For Killing Bryson
Harry R. Middaugh Jr. 37 goes on trial in Phoenix for first degree murder of Benjamin Bryson an employee at Horse Mesa dam on Aug. 11. A jury before Superior Judge Walter J. Thalheimer will hear the case. Middaugh, living in Globe since release on 7500 bond, allegedly shot Bryson after accusing him of taking his mail. Both men were switchboard operators for Salt River Valley Water Users Association.

Boy Two Found After All Night Search Near Mt Pleasant
Skippy Ray Randle, two, missing 22 hours from his home 18 miles north of Mt Pleasant Texas, was found unconscious under an abandoned car top three and a half miles from his yard. Sheriff Coy M Coker said he was in extremely serious condition and rushed for oxygen. Over 1,000 people aided the search led by national guardsmen and peace officers.

Mild Weather Across U S Lifts Temperatures
The U S weather bureau reported mild temperatures for early December across the nation with Midwest readings 20 to 25 degrees above normal. It noted 57 in Bismarck 53 in Omaha and a high of 82 in Corpus Christi while cool spots were in northern New England and the southern Rockies. Two Alcatraz convicts Sam Shockley and Miran Thompson were executed at San Quentin on Friday for the killing of a guard during an escape attempt.
