The forecast shows mostly sunny weather with warming temperatures for most regions this week end. The Northern states northern Rockies and areas from the Great Lakes to New England face cooler temperatures and a chance of light snow flurries.
Daily readings show record highs for yesterday and date, with 69 degrees in Tucson and humidity notes. The entry forecasts the moon phase and celestial events with Venus passing near Antares, and notes rainfall totals to date through 1972.
The administration plans armed officers at boarding gates of 531 U.S. airports at least 30 minutes before all flights. Volpe said the plan could begin six months after congressional approval with a $35 million authorization. Tucson Airport uses 15 federal officers plus 8 to 10 local guards, observing most outgoing flights. International security remains stricter.
Arizona forecasts show sunny Tucson and southeast with little temperature change. Phoenix area expects frost tonight and highs in the 70s with lows near 40, while Northwest Arizona sees increasing high clouds and minimal change. Southwest Deserts stay sunny with highs in the 70s and lows 30s to 40s. General Basins and Mogollon Rim report high clouds and cooler temps, 50s to mid 60s, lows 10 to 25. White Mountains sunny with little change, highs in the 50s and lows 10 to 25. Northeast Plateau and Little Colorado Valley forecast high 50s with some high clouds and cooler nights.
