Arizona water officials and engineers gathered at the Pioneer hotel for the fall conference of the Arizona Sewage and Water Works Association. George W. Marx of Phoenix highlighted the low cost and wide use of reclaimed water from Tucson’s new plant, noting 25 cents per 1,000 gallons compared with higher pumping costs. He cited uses in flushing toilets, agriculture, and groundwater recharge as key benefits. Mayor Niemann welcomed attendees, with Lois Schulze of New York and GE Arnold among speakers.
