Tucson Names Robert Schmidt Airport Manager
Robert W. F. Schmidt, former superintendent of airports for the civil aeronautics administration in four Western states, was appointed manager of the Tucson municipal airport by the chamber of commerce directors. He comes from Los Angeles where he directed CAA airports in the sixth region covering Arizona California Nevada and Utah. He has 10 years with the CAA and previously worked as district airport engineer for Colorado Wyoming South Dakota and Nebraska. Schmidt noted Tucson has not yet operated a municipal airport to showcase its aviation potential.
