Liquor Licensing Chief Testifies Before Jury

U S Health Aides To Talk With Anti Smog Leaders

U S Bureau of Public Health officials will confer with Arizona anti smog campaign representatives in Phoenix next week. Prof Gene Nordby of the University of Arizona heads the campaign research committee and will join meetings alongside the American Society of Civil Engineers convention at the Westward Ho Hotel. He also visited Arizona State University to review facilities with Dean Lee Thompson and the College of Applied Sciences Engineering director.

Rebels Hit Silk In Laos Near Royal HQ At Vang Vieng

Four Soviet planes dropped additional rebel troops and materiel near the Royal Army headquarters at Vang Vieng, north of Vientiane. The government said rebels previously parachuted 300 troops into the area, while Royal forces pushed north with a long retreating column.

Titan Wage Talks at Powder Keg Stage

The Operating Engineers Union says Titan missile wage negotiations in Tucson are at a powder keg stage after meeting with contractor Jones Teer-Winkelman. B52 Crashes On Mt Taylor In New Mexico

An Air Force B52 bomber crashed today on Mt. Taylor, an 11,389 foot peak in west central New Mexico. Crews from military and police raced to the scene about 40 miles west of Albuquerque and north of Grants. no crew details were yet available. The crash reportedly occurred around 12 20 p m.

Fibber's Molly Jordan Dies of Cancer in California

Marian Jordan known as Molly of Fibber McGee and Molly died of ovarian cancer at home in Encino California. Her husband Jim Jordan her co star and their two children Jim Jr and Kathryn Newcomer were at the bedside. The Jordans had reduced appearances on NBC radio in recent years due to fatigue.

Soviets Demand Congo Parliament Reconvene and Reject Union Plan

In a UN General Assembly move, the Soviet delegation urged Congo’s parliament to reconvene within three weeks and rejected the Tananarive federation proposal. Eight speakers were to address debates as the session wound down for the week. Cuban Foreign Minister Raul Roa accused the United States of arming and funding a new Congo operation in Cuba seeking to threaten revolutionary movements in Latin America.
