An apparent incident at a Washington event interrupted by a bank robbery attempt using dynamite. Police and organizers managed the disruption as the crowd was kept safe and the program resumed after the halt.
President Roosevelt rested well in Washington and breakfasted with relish. Surgeons Dr. Rixie, Dr. O Reilly, and Dr. Lung examined the wound and reported satisfactory condition. Officials say inflammation should subside without complications and the President will see no visitors except Cabinet members on important business. He sat up to read, spirits excellent, and only slight fever attributed to travel stress.
The institution’s president mounted a decisive defense and routed the burglars in a tense confrontation. Security teams secured the area as officers arrived, with no injuries reported and suspects detained for investigation.
The Golden Eagle hotel at New Jersey Avenue and D Street was dynamited by Frank McKie who then killed himself. HAMPTON I a Sept 25 Captain Birdsall of Wright county was today nominated in the Third Congressional District Republican convention to succeed D B Henderson.
Washington September 25 President Roosevelt will announce Charlemagne Tower as ambassador to Germany to succeed White. The Russian mission may go to Bellamy Storer, current ambassador to Madrid, with Henry White to move from London to fill the British post.

In Parkerburg the National Bank of Friendly was robbed by four men who blew the vault and damaged cash boxes. President Hugh Thorne fired at the robbers in night clothes, drove them off, and they fled to Ohio in a skiff. The bank, fully insured, will lose nothing.
I Harry Stratton filed suit in county court to challenge his father W S Stratton s will asserting no valid will existed at death and alleging attempts to alter the 1901 document. He is said to be backed by a syndicate in the contest.
The Navy Department receipt from Commander McLean at Colon reports that 300 insurgents tried to seize a passenger train heading from Colon to Panama to capture a Colombian officer. A marine felled the insurgent leader with a musket butt. guards aimed a Colt but did not fire as the attackers fled.
SCRANTON Pa September 25 James Wenzel formerly secretary of the local United Mine Workers union was clubbed to death today near the Grassy Island colliery less than a mile from the Thirteenth regiment camp He had returned to work a few days earlier and incurred the miners enmity.

He cited automatic valve safety preventing a balloon explosion and a front propelled machine under perfect control. He noted crowds as ants and said the craft could carry bombs and be scaled to carry more than one person.
