City approves signal at fatality marred intersection
The Tucson City Council approved a flashing red signal at the South Side four way stop of Campbell Ave and E Irvington Rd to warn motorists after a June 16 crash that killed two people. The $50,000 system aims to slow traffic and require all vehicles to stop. The council also approved annexation of 606 acres on the far Southeast Side adding about 2,900 residents, rezoning the Steinfeld House for offices at 300 N Main Ave, and funded 5,000 for the Victim Witness Advocate Program while denying 12,000 for the Pima Council on Aging.
