A man in Indiana arranged his suicide and set an alarm to trigger the gunfire at a planned time. Authorities state the act was intentional and premeditated, with no indication of external involvement.
George W. Parsons a prosperous Marion farmer killed himself at 4 AM by hanging from a large dry goods box with an alarm clock. His wife found his body an hour and a half later beside the overturned box and clock hands at four. He had been jailed in Converse for a petty offense and spoke of disgrace and death before leaving home with a plan to end his life.
The Rev. Philip Daloria relates Appearing Elk's claim that he killed General George Custer at the Little Bighorn. The Sioux warrior, who later converted to Christianity, supposedly took Custer’s revolver as proof. Appearing Elk died last spring contributing to a controversial account of the battle.
Martin Cornelius a saloon keeper in Appleton Wisconsin was robbed of 8000 by two men armed with revolvers last night. Police searched for suspects as the victim reported the incident at his establishment.
Wynne Arkansas October 29 three Gibson sisters aged 17 12 and 10 were killed at their home. Aged Tyavid Cross confessed witnessing the crime and said a negro named Johnson also involved. Police hold Cross as suspect and seek Johnson for questioning.
Emanuel Crump a 14 year old black boy who witnessed a real hanging last week found a rope and mock noose. He stood on a milk can under a tree and the prank went wrong when the can slipped and the noose closed. He was found dead.
Six men blew a Gardner Illinois bank vault early today stealing 3000 to 4000 dollars. They captured Town Marshal Edmondson, tied him with ropes, and drove him to the bank then to the schoolhouse where they bound him and placed a rope around his neck on a chair at the stair head. The robbers fled by train toward Chicago.
A majority of the Anti arch strike commission left Washington for Scranton to begin an investigation of coal field conditions. The panel will plan a field trip tomorrow and hearings will start after miners claims and operators' replies are filed.
Vi Chancellor Energ today filed his decision in the suit by J Aspinwall Hodge and others to stop United States Steel from retiring 200000909 of preferred stock and issuing 25000000 in bonds The chancellor will advise issuing a temporary injunction pending defendant appeal.
In Porto Rico on October 28 rioting and gunfire disrupted registration across the island. In San Lorenzo Federals were expelled, a mob attacked police, two rioters were killed and fifteen wounded including three policemen. A corpse led the town procession as Federal registration stalled.

Democrats 370, Republicans 333, Prohibitionists 96 in 16 states, Socialists 69, Socialist Labor 12, Socialist Democrat 16, United Labor 4, People’s 8, Populists 7, Anti-Trust 1, Third Party 3. Two women among nominees Mary Burkhart and Ida Hazzett, with voting restrictions in certain districts.
Mitchell day was celebrated by all union miners in the anthracite region with a general suspension of work and a large parade in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania. The event took place in Wilkes Barre on October 29 as miners honored Mitchell.

The pursuit leads to detective inquiries and a meeting with attorney Julius W Dyrenforth.
